Located about 50 kilometres from the city centre of Hong Kong, the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station was China’s first commercial-scale nuclear power station when it was initially commissioned in 1994. Daya Bay uses Pressurised Water Reactor technology which features in around 60% of all nuclear reactors worldwide and have had a well proven safety record since their initial commissioning back in the 1950s.
