Fangchenggang Power Station is the largest power project with external investment in Guangxi Province. It is the first coal-fired power station in the Mainland where CLP has taken a lead role in construction and operation. It supplies power to support the rapid development of Beibu Wan Economic Zone and also contributes to the West to East electricity transmission initiative.
Adopted supercritical technology, Fangchenggang I was commissioned in 2007 and 2008. Phase II has commenced construction in 2014 and was commissioned in November and December 2016. The Power Station has a marine terminal capable of receiving imported coal from large coal ships. CLP has secured supplies from Indonesia through long-term and short-term contracts.
