CLP owns 29.4% of Shandong Zhonghua Power Company Limited (Shandong Zhonghua), which is an early joint venture with foreign participation in the Mainland power sector. Shandong Zhonghua has developed four coal-fired power stations: Shiheng I & II, Liaocheng I and Heze II, with a total generation capacity of  3,060MW, which generate around 16,500 million kWh of electricity per year in total. Shiheng II (2 x 315MW) was commissioned in 1998 while Shiheng I Power Station (2 x  315MW) was commissioned in 1997.
