    Public Alert Over Fake e-bill
    CLP has discovered fake e-bills and reported to the Hong Kong Police for immediate investigation. CLP is very concerned about this incident and is working closely with the relevant authorities on the issue. CLP will also inform and alert our e-bill customers through CLP ONLINE (www.clp.com.hk), email and messages in e-bill.

    CLP announces new tariff
    CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP) today announced that with effect from 1 January 2010, its average Net Tariff will be raised by 2.6%. This adjustment is a net result of a rise of 2.6 cents in Basic Tariff, partially offset by a reduction of 0.3 cents Fuel Clause Charge due to the downward movement of the coal price over the year. This is the first time CLP has increased its Basic Tariff in more than 10 years.

    “Pledge to Halt Food Waste” Programme Exceeds $1 million Target To Provide Meals for 8000 people for one week
    Over 600 volunteers from the CLP Volunteer Team, partner organisations and the general public have successfully created a huge food puzzle, comprising over 30,000 food items. The puzzle marks the climax of CLP’s year long "Pledge to Halt Food Waste Programme" and has successfully raised over HK$1 million in food and monetary donations for the People’s Food Bank.

    CLP announces the launch of charging stations for electric vehicles in Hong Kong
    CLP today announced the launch of the first batch of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Hong Kong. The development follows the signing of a landmark memorandum of understanding in May between CLP Power and The Link Management Limited and Wilson Parking (Holdings) Limited respectively.

    CLP to power first Hong Kong customer with solar energy
    A commercial standalone RE project being built on Town Island
    Marking a further step towards promoting local renewable energy (RE) sources, CLP is building Hong Kong’s first commercial standalone power supply system that relies mainly on solar energy for customers on Town Island, Sai Kung. The project involves the installation of 900 solar panels and two wind turbines to produce as much as 200 kW of electricity that is capable of powering up to 200 sets of 1-hp air-conditioners and reducing an estimated 70,000 kg of CO2 emissions every year.

    CLP Welcomes Hong Kong SAR Government's Approval for an Extension of Nuclear Electricity Supply Contract
    CLP welcomes the approval for an extension of nuclear electricity supply contract by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government announced today. The approval enables the continued supply of clean power to Hong Kong from Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station ("Daya Bay") for another 20 years from 2014.

    CLP Concludes Financing Arrangements for Jhajjar Power Plant in India
    CLP India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the CLP Group, today signed financing agreements with a banking consortium of 15 banks for its 1,320 MW (2x660 MW) power project in Jhajjar in the northern state of Haryana, India. Installed with supercritical technology, the project will be the largest of its kind in CLP's generation portfolio in Asia Pacific and one of India's first supercritical power plants. Its first unit is scheduled to commission by December 2011 and second unit by May 2012.

    CLP Holdings Limited Announces 2009 Interim Results
    Financial Highlights
    • Group operating earnings before one-off items for the first half of 2009 decreased 32.5% to HK$3,603 million, with total earnings (including one-off items) falling by 42.3% to HK$3,235 million.
    • Consolidated revenue dropped 14.6% to HK$23,503 million.
    • Earnings from our electricity business in Hong Kong decreased by 27.6% to HK$2,925 million, with revenue down by 13.2% to HK$12,979 million, primarily due to the reduction of the permitted return.
    • Second interim dividend of HK$0.52 per share.

    Giant Environmental Totem Poles Exhibit at apm Mall Starting 6.25 Create Your Own Totem Online to Win a Fabulous Solar Watch
    Through the Totem Environmental Arts Project co-organised by CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP) and the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF), four giant environmental totem poles were created by around 150 primary students from local and international schools.     CLP Tops Out Substation Building for Kai Tak Cruise Terminal
    First Civil Structure in Kai Tak Area to Fuel the Development Project
    CLP’s first substation developed for providing electricity to the Kai Tak Development Area was officially topped out today, marking the official commencement of the major infrastructure works in the area. The new substation, designed mainly for the new cruise terminal scheduled for opening in 2013, is expected to be commissioned in mid-2012 and will provide a reliable and environmentally-friendly supply of electricity for the terminal and its associated travel facilities.

    CLP Power Announces Plan of a Trial Network of Charging Stations to Support Electric Vehicle Drivers in the Territory
    Aiming at complementing the Government's commitment to promoting electric vehicles (EVs) in Hong Kong, CLP Power today announced its plan to help EV drivers to "Plug and Drive" with its plan of setting up a trial network of charging station for EVs in its supply areas in the territory. This new initiative aims to demonstrate to the driving community how easy it is to charge an EV and hence, promoting a wider adoption of EV.

    CLP Plants 50,000 More Trees at the Fire-devastated Tuen Mun Hillside under Its 5-Year Regional Tree Planting Programme
    CLP today kicked off the second year of its 5-Year Regional Tree Planting Porgramme and pledged to plant another 50,000 trees in the fire-devastated Fu Tei, Tuen Mun in 2009. Last year, CLP planted the same number of trees in the vicinity. The company plans to plant a total of 250,000 trees in Hong Kong by 2012. Approximately 260 participants including CLP volunteers, government officials as well as students from the Tuen Mun community took part in the CLP tree planting day.

    CLP Expands Renewables Portfolio through R40s Acquisition
    CLP has entered an arrangement with Hydro Tasmania to acquire from Roaring 40s Renewable Energy Pty Ltd. ("Roaring 40s") its Mainland Chinese wind farm portfolio for approximately HK$730 million. Roaring 40s is a joint venture, formed in September 2005, between CLP and Australian-based Hydro Tasmania to pursue renewable energy projects in Australia and Asia.
