Jeeralang gas-fired power station serves as an intermediate and peaking plant which is generally brought into operation when demand is high or as short-term replacement while other plants are serviced. EnergyAustralia acquired ownership of the plant in 2018. Before that, it had a long-term offtake agreement with the plant's previous owner Ecogen Energy to purchase the electricity it produced since 1999.
