Since 1998, the Company has undertaken opportunistic on-market share repurchases to optimise our capital structure and enhance earnings per share. Details of the share buybacks made by CLP are set out below:
During 1998, a total of 39,817,500 shares were repurchased.
During 2001, a total of 75,986,000 shares were repurchased.
In 2002, a total of 13,240,500 shares were repurchased.
On 28 October 2008, 1,839,500 shares were repurchased.
On 29 October 2008, 263,000 shares were repurchased.
