Nanao Wind Farm is located on Nanao Island in Shantou, Guangdong and provides electricity to Shantou City. It is one of the earliest island-based wind power projects in the Mainland. CLP has an equity interest in phases II and III, which have a total capacity of 60MW. The projects were commissioned in 2007 and 2010 respectively. Nanao II was registered as a “Clean Development Mechanism” (CDM) project with the United Nations in August 2006. Nanao II comprises of 53 x 850kW units wind turbines from Vestas.
