EnergyAustralia holds the rights to charge and dispatch energy from the Riverina Stage 2 and Darlington Point Battery Energy Storage Systems, which are capable of powering more than 49,000 homes for two hours of peak peak power demand before being recharged. Built by Edify Energy, the battery systems entered service in September 2024 to store energy at times when demand is low, supplying into the electricity market during high demand periods when customers need it most.
