Huaiji Hydro Power Stations

CLP's first investment in renewable project in the Mainland was an acquisition of a 41.5% stake in Huaiji Hydro-electric Power Project in 1997. Huaiji Hydro Power Stations consists of 12 separate hydro power stations in the northern mountains of Guangdong and has a total capacity of 129MW. The stations commenced in services by phases from 1975 to 2008, and a 1MW expansion to one of the hydro power stations in May 2015. CLP renegotiated several aspects of the joint venture in 2005 and 2006, whereby the term was extended by 20 years to 2047 and CLP's share was increased to 84.9%.
