Following the same model of cooperation at Changdao Wind Farm, CLP and a subsidiary of China Huaneng Group jointly developed another wind power project in Shandong at Weihai. With a total capacity of 69MW, Weihai Wind Farm supplies electricity to the nearby coastal area.

Weihai II comprises of 33 x 1.5MW units wind turbines from Sinovel and was commissioned in 2008, while Weihai I was commissioned in 2007. Both phases registered as "Clean Development Mechanism" (CDM) projects with the United Nations in February 2008.
